Project Highlights

This prime real estate is well located at the corner of Yonge St and Queens Quay in the heart of Toronto.

Its busy, open court yards with restaurants provide a great opportunity for pigeons to find food. The building facade ledges were the perfect perch for them to hang out and enjoy the sun all day, with a great vantage point over the yards.

The battle has been going on for awhile – with regular clean up and many annoyed customers and angry pedestrians – but the owners finally made a decision to end the problem once and for all.

Pigeon Busters was called in to provide several options and approaches to resolve the issue. After several meetings with the owners, a decision was made to go with bird spikes. The management considered other options, such as electric tracks, but the priority was longevity and a long warranty. After careful consideration the owners realized the value of the spikes over the long run, even if this option was more expensive.

After a thorough surface cleaning and disinfection, Pigeon Busters installed spikes on the facade ledges and windowsills. Some of the challenges were access to different parts of the building with many obstacles and busy hours, which were resolved by using a combination of different safety and access equipments.

The customer was very happy to see the birds gone and they can have peace of mind too, because the job came with a 10-year warranty as well.
