Project Highlights
This beautiful, high-end condominium building is located at Humber Bay with an awesome view on Lake Ontario.
Plenty of wildlife in this area of the city and plenty of people who cannot resist feeding them. The south ledges of this building are perfectly situated for pigeons to perch. Plenty of sun with a panoramic view of where to grab the next bite of food during the day. So they just s(h)it there and wait for the food to appear. What a life!
The management of the building tried trapping before, of course without any success. Repeated cleanup was just not cutting it and complaints from condo owners were keep coming in.
Pigeon Busters proposed two different solutions: Bird Spikes or Electric Tracks. After serious consideration of the advantages and disadvantages of these products, the management decided to have the electric track system installed. The electric tracks have a very low profile and their color can perfectly match the building. Due to the low profile of the tracks, window cleaners can do their job without damaging the product, they can even walk on them, unlike the bird spikes. Ultimately in this case the electric tracks were the clear choice.
The system was set up on a solar charger, so that the tracks can run independently from the condo owners’ power source. The installation comes with a yearly maintenance contract. This is needed to ensure that the tracks operate at their required charge level – the solar charger is functioning properly – and that the tracks are clean.
A great project and a good example of where electric tracks can be used effectively. Also the best view of the year!
