The corner of Spadina and Adelaide has had its problems with pigeons for a long time. If not on the front facade of the buildings, then the back sides are shelter heaven for city pigeons.
The rear sides of these neighbouring buildings create a dead end alley which is the perfect habitat for nesting pigeons. These protected windowsills provide plenty of real estate to a huge number of pigeons in the area. In fact Pigeon Busters had done this netting job over ten years ago, but when the buildings’ walls were restored the netting was removed. Of course, the pigeons returned and the work had to be done again; all from scratch.
Using bosuns chair, we cleaned all affected areas between the two buildings and installed bird netting horizontally on top, on the side and on the ground floor, overhead – between the two buildings to close off the space and to prevent pigeons having access to the area.
